Critical Mick

Reviews by the Clown that All Other Critics Want to Strangle with a Black Turtleneck

Based in Dublin, Mick Halpin- aka Critical Mick- has many questions. He also has one wart.
What's the big idea?

Mick Halpin offends snooty critics by offering reviews that non-intellectuals will groove to. UNRULY REVIEWS. The rules of proper diction can bite my ass.

What Masters of Fine Arts Degree Does This Mick Have? And How Many Academic Publications? Does He Even Know The Meaning of the Term "Affective Fallacy"?

Mick don't even own a black turtleneck. He's an Average Joe, but a big reader. Amateur fiction a speciality, Mick's volunteered more than one thousand crits on Critters, Imaginaries- an excellent online critiquing coop full of friendly, talented amigos and NFG Magazine- Six issues of brilliant talent, distributed at more than 500 locations across North America .

People have always told Mick he's crazy. And to shut the (*&% up.

And Does This Critical Mick's Reading Have Focus?

Mainly Irish fiction. Mainly crime. And history. A little goofball sci-fi.

In summary: Mick is a bloke. He likes what blokes like.

Likes include: beer, books, talking shite.

Critical Mick's Charity Auction 2009
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland

In the past four years of unruly reviewing and author interviewing, Mick has collected a groaning bookshelf of Irish fiction and non-fiction titles signed by their authors. Starting with six well-known works, these will be auctioned into the hands of fellow book fans in March 2009, all in aid of The Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
