David and the Bear Lake Monster daddy what are you doing?

Monster Go Rrrrrrrr!
Linda Weaver Clarke's historical romance series set in the Bear Lake Valley, Idaho is suitable for the whole family. It's only natural, then, for this unruly review of David and the Bear Lake Monster to consult the opinion of a young reader. Namely, Junior Editor Conor Halpin (born 2006).
For the first time ever, this unruly review is "audio only." Our conversation about the novel hits the main points, but might not be entirely accurate:
A double-check confirms that the novel contains no crocodiles
Nor elephants
Sarah, the pretty lady who tempts David from his dream of building a mighty freight haulage business, is a well behaved young woman throughout. Her dancing is of the graceful, inspiring variety, not the rowdy dancehall kind.
No do that, Sarah!
Critical Mick says: Linda Weaver Clarke fans will enjoy this episode set in 1912. Safe from monsters of the Ulterior sort, this chapter book is fun, educational and appropriate for young children. Though there is an outlaw and an ex-outlaw, grown-up crime fictioneers might say "Oh no! Scary monster! Hide!"
